Fun With Google Trends

Been playing around a bit with this cool tool from Google that lets you pit search terms against each other in a popularity contest of sorts. Some interesting searches:

• Google overtakes Microsoft (well, at least on Google search..)
• Ubuntu overtakes Debian
• Blogging bigger than Podcasting
• Java dominates modern programming languages, but C++ dwarfs them all (not to mention PHP)
• Python vs. Ruby, neck to neck
• Men prefer Blondes
• The American Idol beat
