I discovered Gnome's deskbar-applet today. What a great tool! I wrote a Google plugin that allows you to search Google, use I'm Feeling Lucky, and get a word definition using 'define:word'. You can download it here.
To install, simply extract this file in your ~/.gnome2/deskbar-applet/handlers directory.
